Child Safety Standards

GatherUp is a social meetup app for adults. These published standards describe how GatherUp prohibits and responds to child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM). They apply to the GatherUp mobile apps and website.

1. Age requirement

GatherUp is for users 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly allow children to create accounts or use the Service. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will remove it and delete associated personal data as described in our Privacy Policy.

2. Zero tolerance for CSAE and CSAM

GatherUp strictly prohibits:

5. Moderation and enforcement

GatherUp reviews user reports through an admin moderation workflow. We may also take proactive action based on signals we receive. Actions include content removal, warnings, temporary suspension, permanent bans, and forced logout of banned accounts. Event chat is scoped to booked attendees; 1:1 messages require mutual post-event consent — there is no open anonymous chat.
