Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the GatherUp mobile app and website (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use GatherUp. If applicable law in your country requires a higher minimum age to use a service like ours, you must meet that age instead. By using the Service you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.

2. Your account

• You are responsible for keeping your credentials private.
• You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
• Notify us immediately at Support@gatherup.site if you believe your account has been compromised.
• You may delete your account at any time from Profile → Settings → Delete account.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Harass, threaten, impersonate, or discriminate against other users.
• Post unlawful, sexually explicit, hateful, or otherwise harmful content.
• Use the Service to organise illegal activity.
• Scrape, copy, or reverse-engineer the Service or its data.
• Interfere with the integrity or operation of the Service (including denial-of-service attempts, automated abuse, or attempts to bypass security).
• Impersonate GatherUp or its staff.

We may remove content that violates these Terms and suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the Service.

4. In-person meetups — important

GatherUp helps people connect, but the Service is not a vetting, background-check, or chaperone service. You meet other users at your own risk. Please use common sense:

• Meet in public places, especially the first time.
• Tell a friend where you'll be.
• Stop and leave if anything feels unsafe.
• Report unsafe behaviour to Support@gatherup.site.

Organisers are responsible for the events they create, including any ticketing, refunds, location safety, and applicable local rules.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of the photos, messages, and event details you post. You grant GatherUp a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, and transmit that content within the Service so we can operate the product. The licence ends when you remove the content or delete your account, except where we are required to retain it by law or where it has already been received by other users.

6. Service availability

We work hard to keep GatherUp available, but the Service is provided "as is" and may be unavailable from time to time for maintenance, upgrades, or reasons beyond our control. We may add, remove, or change features at any time.

7. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GatherUp disclaims all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We are not responsible for the conduct of users at events, the accuracy of user-supplied content, or any loss arising from your use of the Service.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GatherUp's total liability arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service is limited to the amount you have paid us (if any) in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if continued access would expose us or other users to harm. After termination, provisions that by their nature should survive (sections 5, 7, 8, 9, and 11) will continue to apply.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes we will update the date above and notify you in the app or by email. Continued use of the Service after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where GatherUp is established, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the courts of that jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring a claim in your country of residence.
